Interior Design in Naples and Bonita Springs

And The Winner Is…

It was a night to remember as the 2009 Aurora Awards took place in Orlando, Florida on Saturday evening. The spectacular annual event places the spot light on the first-class designers, builders, and architects of the South Eastern region of the United States. As only a select few are deemed honorable enough to obtain an Aurora, it is certainly a prestigious award to receive. Only the best of the best are qualified to bask in the glory of an award like this!
I am thrilled to say that I won an Aurora for interior detailing for the Christensen residence which is a transitional style with an “East meets West” sensibility. However, I did not accomplish this alone. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my colleague and close friend Dianne Looney and my other “rock star” team mate Cindy Bushnell (not shown).

Kim Collins (Middle), Deborah Martinez (not shown), Alina Olinger (right), and Chelsea Larson (left) earned the award for Interior Merchandising for a private residence in Naples which consisted of a coastal style with a light, cool, and calming color palette. These inspiring women were also the recipients of another Aurora for the Metro Luxe model at the Strada at Mercato in Naples with its clean, crisp, and contemporary feel.

We stayed at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando where we enjoyed watching the famous Peabody ducks while sipping on a celebratory beverage. As many know about these impressive ducks, they are trained to come down from their $100,000 penthouse each evening with the trusted direction of their trainer. They splash and swim in the grand fountain in the center of the lobby until their trainer leads them back to their abode by way of red carpet and elevator.

My co-workers and I had a phenomenal time at the awards. It was a night to laugh, dance, celebrate, and shine amongst friends, colleagues, food, and wine. Not only are the awards a time to commemorate hard work and dedication, it is a time to enjoy the fruits of our labor in the best of company. We had a fantastic night and are already looking forward to next year!

  1. This is an impressive group from Southwest Florida (Collins and Dupont). Incredible energy and life has been infused into their work utilizing fresh talent with their rock solid experience. Deliberate and liberating, these interiors show a broad range of talent and expertise in detail. Impressive new directions are being mapped out that are visually refreshing. Thanks for sharing and congratulations!
